Submission Instructions/Information

IMPORTANT NOTE: The abstract submission deadline will NOT be extended. Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

  • The final date for all submissions is September 23, 2020.
  • The AUA prohibits an industry employee from presenting an abstract at a CME accredited session.
  • Encore abstracts may be submitted for consideration. (Encore Abstracts are abstracts previously presented at another conference or previously published in a journal.)
  • Industry professionals are not permitted to present abstracts.
  • Submissions can only be made through the website. Any other method will not be considered. Please read the rules of submission before proceeding.

General Rules for all Submissions

  • The Scientific Committee will review all the submissions, and once complete, you will receive information about the type of presentation you will present. Please note: all submission information about acceptance into the program will follow.
  • All submissions must be submitted and presented in clear English and spelling quality that is suitable for publication.
  • Upon submission, the Submitter confirms that the submission has been revised and that all information is correct. The content of the submission cannot be modified or corrected after final submission deadline and the author is aware that it will be considered and/or published exactly as submitted.
  • The submission constitutes acceptance from the authors regarding its publication (e.g. congress website, programs, other promotions, etc.).
  • The Submitter warrants and represents that he/she is the exclusive owner or has the rights of all the information and content (Hereafter: "Content") provided to Southeastern Section of the AUA, Inc. Meetings and Events (Hereafter: "The Organizers"). The publication of the submission does not infringe any third party rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights.
  • The organizers have the right to remove any submission which does not comply with the above.
  • Upon submission the Submitter confirms that the contact details saved in the system are those of the corresponding author, who will be notified about the status of the submission, and will be responsible for informing the other authors about the status.

General Guidelines for all Submissions

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
  • Presenting author’s contact details
    • Title, full first and last name(s)
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
    • Email address
    • Daytime phone number
    • Full address information
  • Author and co-authors’ details
    • Title, full first and last name(s)
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
    • Email address

Rules for Abstract Submission

  • Abstract Title
    (limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE)
  • Abstract Body
    (limited to 360 words)
    Table(s), Graph(s) or Illustration(s): All tables/graphs/illustrations must be converted to an image. And a maximum of 1 image(s) can be included per abstract. The maximum file size of the image is 1.5 MB. The maximum pixel size of the image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixels. You may upload an image in JPG, BMP or PNG format only. For higher quality output we recommend your images be set at 300 dpi and crop out any unnecessary surrounding white space.
    Please note: Do not paste an image into the body. To add an image, you must use the image icon on the toolbar. Click the image icon and use the browse button to locate the file on your computer.
  • Abstract Layout
    Abstracts must use the following structured format:
    • Introduction/ Background
    • Methods/ Materials
    • Results
    • Conclusions
  • Abstract categories include:
    • Men's Health—Sexual dysfunction and Infertility
    • Men's Health—BPH and Voiding Dysfunction
    • Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
    • Bladder Cancer

Rules for T. Leon Howard Imaging Submission

  • Complete your T. Leon Howard case online using the Submission Type Selection for T. Leon Howard Case.
  • A short title of less than 10 words for your case to be printed in the program. The title should not give the final diagnosis but may mention a presenting symptom (e.g. "A Young Man with Abdominal Pain").
  • A short Description of Case is required and must be submitted through the submission system.

Rules for Video/Movie Submission

Beginning for this year, please note there is a new video submission process. Video files are required to be uploaded to your Google Drive* account and shared with the SES Office.

  • You must submit your video details through the submission system using the Submission Type Selection for Video/Movie.
  • After your submission is complete you will receive a reference #. Please clearly label your video abstract file with this reference # and Name your file as the reference # [For example: 1234.mp4] when uploading and sharing your video via your Google Drive account with the SES Office.
  • Video files MUST be uploaded and shared with the SES Office by September 23, 2020 11:59 PM (Central Time U.S. & Canada).
  • The video/movie should be saved as a MPEG-4 (.mp4) file using Standard Definition resolution format.
    ✓ Please refer to the standard definition compression settings for YouTube or Vimeo for guidelines.
  • The length of the video/movie should be a maximum of 7 minutes.
  • Videos without the reference # will not be considered for acceptance.
*You must Upload and Share your video file with southeastern.aua@gmail.com using GOOGLE DRIVE.

If you do not have a Google drive account please create one. If you already have an account, sign in to your account.
  • Upload your file to your google drive account.
  • Select the file you want to share. The file should be CLEARLY labeled with your submission reference #. If you do not have a reference #, you did not submit correctly from the submission portal.
  • Right click the file or click the share icon at top right.
  • On the “Share with Others” dialog, under "People," enter the SES email address – southeastern.aua@gmail.com.
  • Please give SES full privileges to the file so we can send to the reviewers
